The lives of two mob hit men, a boxer, a gangster’s wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption. (SOURCE: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110912/)

I liked it. I think Inglorious Basterds will always be my favourite Tarantino movie, but I really enjoyed this one.

I miss when the good ol’ days when I didn’t point and laugh at John Travolta.

Samuel L. Jackson was excellent. As was everyone else, really.

I liked the Bonnie story the best, I think, but all were very good.

Director: Jeffrey Blitz

Looking for answers to life’s big questions, a stuttering boy joins his high school debate team. (SOURCE: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477078/)

I’m sort of torn by this movie, because I loved half of it, but the other half was really boring and drawn out.

Reece Thompson was awesome, and does an excellent stutter, I think.

I just think that it was too long, even though it was only about an hour and forty minutes, I think it could’ve been better as a shorter movie.

I love everyone, though.

This is just really awkward and sort of traumatizing and please don’t watch it. Ever.

Despite the pretty lame premise, I had high hopes for this movie because MARTIN FREEMAN and MANDY MOORE. But it’s awkward, and not funny and really, really bad.

The big problem with Happy Feet Two is that I didn’t care about the penguins at all. The introduction of Brad Pitt and Matt Damon as two krill, Will and Bill, separated from their swarm was definitely the puntastic high-point of this movie. When they weren’t on screen I was wishing they were back.

Despite knowing that there was a plot to the movie, a complication, a solution, I feel like nothing really happened to the penguins and I think if you asked me tomorrow what happened I wouldn’t be able to tell you, other than to shout a handful of krill puns at you.

It is very nice to look at, though, but I was underwhelmed by the voice acting. Please, can Hank Azaria stop doing things that aren’t The Simpsons.

Note: Download it just for the krill storyline if you like puns. I was crying with laughter.

A look at the life of Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, with a focus on the price she paid for power. (SOURCE: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1007029/)

If this movie had been terrible (as I’m sure I remember someone telling me) I was going to use the excuse that I went to see it because my mum has a giant amount of love for Meryl Streep (“Meryl can do no wrong, Sian. She’s can do ANYTHING she wants.”), but it was good. Really good.

I think it’s worth seeing it just for the excellent acting by Streep, but the rest of the cast is good. I liked how the story was told and URGH, M.T. AND D.T. ARE ADORABLE AND CAUSED ME EMOTIONS.

I don’t care, this counts as a movie. It also counts as the MOST AMAZING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Oh gosh, how was I to know that Scooby-Doo would mix so well with Batman to create this perfect, flawless, awesome cartoon.

This is the most amazing combination of corny lines, puns, Batman and Robin, the Scooby Gang and the old Hanna-Barbera laugh track.

This story is like the inside of my big brother’s mind. Just sayin’.

But, I did like it very much! I think it’s pretty deep and meaningful for a cartoon, but not so much that you feel like you’re being lectured.

PLUS, I JUST LOVE PEANUTS.

When Valentine’s Day came out, I called it a shitty version of Love Actually. New Years Eve is a shitty version of Valentine’s Day. It’s overly predictable, to the point where I guessed the conclusion of all except one storyline (Halle Berry, just so you know). It’s corny and pretty awful but the Zac Efron/Michelle Pfeiffer story was adorable and definitely the high point.

It was very… chick flick, and I will admit that Lea Michele singing Auld Lang Syne made me cry. It’s cutesy. Over the top cutesy. I just wish someone had had a bad New Years Eve.

I feel like this movie was trying too hard. Trying to be better than what it was and trying to be sneaky and trying to not have you guess all the twists.

It failed.

Which is disappointing, because with a cast like that I so wanted to love it. Seeing Chris Pine as the character he played was particularly joy inducing, though.

Not enough explosions.

Brendan Gleeson was my favourite bit.

As a freebie, have some of Sian’s Mission: Impossible II trivia:

  1. Eight year old Sian saw Tom Cruise from her primary school and had no idea who he was
  2. The scene where he jumps off the building was filmed at the building next to where I used to work.
  3. You can see my primary school at the start.
  4. My sister-in-law’s mum made the parachute.
